Job Description
Forward Deployed Engineer
Maximize Customer Resilience with Incident Lake as Your Weapon - We're Hiring FDEs!
Recruitment Overview
The mission of an FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) is to deliver our proprietary product, "Incident Lake," into client environments and maximize its value, thereby enhancing customer business resilience to the utmost.
This role requires more than just tool implementation; it demands "solving problems by any means necessary, in the best possible way." In the upstream phase, you will engage with CxOs and management to identify core issues. In the downstream phase, you will optimize client-specific business workflows, implement customizations using APIs, and sometimes even delve into the infrastructure configuration of existing systems.
Your role is not to "sell a product," but to "transform the customer's operations using Incident Lake to achieve a highly resilient organization."
【Main Responsibilities】
* Strategic Consulting: Identify bottlenecks in incident response through dialogue with management.
* Business Process Redesign: Fundamentally optimize existing client workflows in conjunction with Incident Lake implementation.
* Technical Delivery: Integrate and connect with client environments, and implement customizations tailored to their environment.
* Product Feedback: Share insights gained in the field with the development team to influence the product roadmap.
Required Skills
* Language Proficiency: Japanese N1 level or native level (ability to conduct complex stakeholder adjustments and logical negotiations).
* Executive Communication: Ability to translate technical value into solutions for management issues and present them to CxOs and executives.
* Deep Understanding of Cloud Infrastructure: Experience in architecture design and operation using major cloud services such as AWS, Azure, GCP.
* Practical Incident Management Experience: Over 5 years of experience in roles such as Incident Manager, with a thorough understanding of decision-making processes during crises.
Preferred Skills
* Advanced Coding Skills: Ability to develop glue code for integrating client's existing systems with Incident Lake, or custom tools.
* SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) Knowledge: Experience in automation for reliability improvement and fostering a post-mortem culture.
* Experience Building Data Analysis Platforms: Knowledge of BI tools and data pipelines for analyzing accumulated incident data and visualizing trends.
* Understanding of Enterprise IT: Knowledge to handle complex requirements of large corporations, such as security governance and authentication systems (IDP integration, etc.).
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Obsession with "Maximizing Value": Prioritizes "the best solution for the client" and is willing to engage in tedious adjustments or dismantle inefficient processes without being tied to specific technologies or methods.
* View Technology as a "Means": Enjoys exploring the latest technologies but focuses more on "who will be made happy by that technology."
* Enjoys Chaos: Possesses the autonomy to dive into unstructured situations and set milestones independently under uncertainty.
* High Sense of Ownership: Perceives client challenges as "our own problems" and has the responsibility to see the delivery through to success.
