VARIETAS is redesigning how people and opportunities meet using AI and technology. They are seeking an AI Engineer to build and improve the foundation models that power their AI Interviewer product, which has been adopted by major Japanese corporations. This role involves research and development on foundation models and reinforcement learning cycles.
Must-haves
- Practical experience in developing and operating models using machine learning/deep learning (mid-level or above)
- Experience implementing AI/ML infrastructure using Python or similar languages
- Experience in research, development, and application of LLM and Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Design capability to articulate and lead discussions on methodology ('Why this method?')
- Must work onsite in Tokyo
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in research and implementation of reinforcement learning (RL/RLHF, etc.)
- Knowledge of model alignment, fairness, and explainability (XAI)
- Experience designing and building data pipelines and model operations (MLOps)
- Experience designing models based on ontologies/graph structures
- Research achievements such as paper writing and conference presentations
- AI development experience in HRtech, SaaS, or BtoB products
