As a Principal Backend Engineer, you will lead the resolution of highly complex technical challenges in the backend domain for a platform supporting 7 million downloads and high daily engagement. You will be hands-on with coding while driving architectural decisions and enhancing the platform engineering and SRE functions.
Must-haves
- 8+ years of backend development and operations experience.
- Proven experience leading the resolution of advanced technical challenges in large-scale, high-traffic systems (e.g., large transactions, scaling, reliability, architecture design).
- Experience in backend development using languages such as Go, Ruby, PHP, Java, Python, TypeScript, Scala, Kotlin, or Dart.
- Experience defining and disseminating technical policies and design standards within an organization.
- Ability to take ownership and drive tasks from design through implementation and operation.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience developing and operating with Go and Google Cloud.
- Experience designing and operating large-transaction platforms for e-commerce or finance.
- Experience leading architectural reforms such as domain division and microservices.
- Experience in Platform Engineering / SRE (Observability, SLI/SLO operation, automation infrastructure).
- Experience leading organizations technically as a Tech Lead or Engineering Manager.
- Experience designing and optimizing development processes using LLM/AI tools.
