Must-haves
- 4+ years of backend development experience with TypeScript or Ruby on Rails
- Experience designing and operating public cloud environments (AWS, GCP)
- Proven experience leading technology selection and architecture design
- Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into technical specifications and drive implementation
- Experience designing and developing with non-functional requirements (security, availability, performance) in mind
- Experience leading technical decisions on the ground, including code reviews
Nice-to-haves
- 3+ years of web frontend development experience with Next.js
- 1+ year of development experience with Next.js App Router
- 4+ years of mobile app development experience with React Native
- CTO, VPoE, Tech Lead experience in startups or growth-stage companies
- Experience building, hiring, and mentoring engineering teams
- Experience scaling an engineering organization from single digits to tens of members
- Experience launching 0 to 1 products
- Experience in mission-critical services like payments, EC, or marketplaces
