WHI is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the evolution of their HR SaaS product, "COMPANY," into a next-generation platform. This role involves leveraging LLM/RAG technologies to enhance the system, which currently supports 1,200 companies and over 5.7 million users.
Must-haves
- Experience in web application development (language agnostic)
- Experience developing systems using cloud services (AWS/Google Cloud/Azure)
- Experience designing and developing systems considering performance, scalability, availability, and multi-tenant security
- Experience leading development teams of several people as a project leader, tech lead, or scrum master
Nice-to-haves
- Experience developing and operating web applications handling high load and large volumes of data
- Experience integrating LLM characteristics, API specifications, and vector search technologies into web applications
- Experience launching APIs or web applications from scratch
- Backend development experience using Go, TypeScript, Python, or Java
- Experience in engineer recruitment activities (interviewer, event speaker, etc.)
- Experience with public speaking, writing, awards, or OSS contributions

Work style
Primarily remote with occasional office visits (approx. 10-20% onsite). Flexible working hours with no core time. Location: Tokyo (Minato-ku, Toranomon).
Other notes
Annual salary range: 8,000,000 - 12,000,000 JPY. Includes monthly base salary and a fixed monthly overtime allowance for 45 hours. Overtime is typically around 20 hours per month, with occasional increases during release cycles. A 100,000 JPY remote work allowance is provided.
