ELYZA is developing Physical AI, connecting LLM/VLM capabilities to the physical world to solve real-world problems. This role focuses on the social implementation of Physical AI by integrating robot hardware, control systems, and AI models, with a mission to create commonplace solutions in unexplored territories.
Must-haves
- Expertise in robotics, mechanical engineering, and electronic engineering with practical problem-solving skills down to the physical layer.
- Experience in robot control program development using Python or C++ within a Linux environment.
- Hands-on experience building robot systems using ROS/ROS2.
- Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and eagerness to engage in technical discussions with AI engineers.
- Residency within Japan (full remote work from overseas is not permitted).
Nice-to-haves
- Achievements in mechanical design and embedded control in robot competitions or equivalent practical hardware development.
- Experience leading or supporting the entire process from PoC to commercial operation.
- Experience in mechanical design using 3D CAD and rapid prototyping with 3D printers.
- Low-level embedded development experience (motor control, microcontrollers, circuit design).
- Experience in robot control using reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or deep learning.
- Hands-on experience in robot deployment, setup, and troubleshooting in field environments.

Work style
Primarily full remote within Japan. Remote/Office work is freely selectable. Preference given to candidates residing in the Tokyo metropolitan area. Super flextime system (no core hours: flexible hours from 6:00 to 22:00).
Other notes
Annual salary: ¥9,000,000 - ¥15,000,000. Stock option system available. Side jobs/concurrent employment permitted.
