ELYZA, an AI startup from the University of Tokyo's Matsuo Lab, is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of AI products, focusing on LLMs and AI Agents. Must-haves
- 3-5+ years of experience developing and operating ML services in a team
- Experience building and improving MLOps/LLMOps
- Experience developing and operating in cloud environments (GCP or AWS)
- Experience leading technology selection and technical reviews in ML system/product development
- Deep expertise in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Image Recognition, Speech Recognition, or large-scale distributed systems
- Business-level Japanese communication skills
Nice-to-haves
- High expertise in general software development (architecture design, design patterns)
- Experience planning and developing products with machine learning at their core
- Product commitment experience at a SaaS company (especially in 0 to 1 launch)
- Award-winning experience in data science competitions (Kaggle, SIGNATE)
- Experience contributing to OSS (PyTorch, Transformers)
- Development experience using LLM APIs (OpenAI)
- Experience building/operating HPC clusters or low-level optimization

Work style
Full remote OK. Super flextime system (6:00-22:00, no core hours). Location: Tokyo (SWT Building 5F/6F, 3-15-9 Hongo, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo), but remote work is combined with flexible working hours.

Annual salary: ¥9,000,000 - ¥15,000,000. Stock option system available. Side jobs/concurrent employment allowed.
