Medical Shift is a startup in the dental field aiming to become the infrastructure for the industry. They are seeking a Tech Lead to design and build the company's future technical strategy, data infrastructure, and development organization as they scale from 3 billion to 10 billion yen in sales.
Must-haves
- 5+ years of experience in web application development
- Experience leading system architecture design and technology selection
- Experience making technical decisions based on business requirements (trade-off analysis)
- Experience leading engineering teams (design/code reviews, technical strategy)
- Experience collaborating with non-engineers (PdM, Business, Designers) from requirements to implementation
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge/experience in machine learning, data analysis, security, UX design, or project management
- 3+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails, Next.js, or AWS
- Experience managing engineering teams
- Experience with hiring, performance evaluation, and career development
- Understanding of how technical decisions impact business
- Experience as a Product Manager or collaborating closely with sales/marketing

Work style
Hybrid. Location: Tokyo. Employees can choose to work from home or the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with mandatory in-office days on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Salary: 7,500,000 JPY - 15,000,000 JPY per year. Stock options available. Relocation assistance and rent subsidy available for those living within 2km of the office.
