ChuraData is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design and lead data infrastructure projects, including lakehouses, data meshes, and generative AI integrations. You will be responsible for client proposals, architecture design, and project management in a flat, project-based organization.
Must-haves
- Broad knowledge of cloud (AWS/GCP/Azure), data infrastructure, networks, and security, with experience in non-functional requirements design.
- Client-facing experience including proposal creation, quoting, and presentations.
- Project management experience (multi-member, multi-vendor, or long-term projects).
- Data infrastructure architecture design experience (DWH/Data Lake/Lakehouse using Snowflake/BigQuery/Databricks or large-scale migration).
- Development experience using Agentic Coding (e.g., Claude Code).
- Business-level Japanese communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with modern data stacks (Snowflake/dbt/Terraform/AWS/GCP/Databricks).
- Experience with Databricks (Unity Catalog), Apache Spark.
- Experience with workflow/CI/CD tools (Airflow, GitHub Actions).
- Experience with ELT/ETL products (dbt, Fivetran, TROCCO, Glue).
- Experience with IaC products (Terraform, CloudFormation, Terragrunt).
- Experience with BI products (Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
- Full system development lifecycle experience (requirements definition to testing).
- Experience with generative AI/LLM/RAG application development.
- Experience building LLMOps/AgtOps infrastructure.
- Ability to read English technical documents.

Work style
Nationwide remote work is possible within Japan. Employees can choose to work from the Okinawa headquarters or remotely. Approximately half of the employees live outside Okinawa.
