ChuraData is seeking Data Engineers to build and migrate modern data stacks, focusing on Snowflake, dbt, and Terraform. You will work with clients to understand their business needs and leverage data to create value, potentially leading small teams.
Must-haves
- Experience managing 2+ team members or client-facing work with requirement gathering.
- Technical knowledge of Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift for query tuning and troubleshooting.
- Development or operational experience in Python, Java, or Scala.
- Basic knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP and HTTP.
- Experience using AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Experience developing with Agentic Coding tools (e.g., Claude Code).
- Business-level Japanese communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience understanding client issues and providing appropriate engineering solutions.
- Experience building and operating data infrastructure with cloud data warehouses.
- Experience with lakehouse/distributed processing platforms like Databricks or Spark.
- Experience with workflow/CI/CD tools like Airflow, dbt Cloud, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with BI tools like Tableau, Looker, or Power BI.
- Experience developing applications using Generative AI/LLM/RAG.

Work style
Nationwide remote work is possible within Japan. Some business trips may be required. The company has an office in Okinawa.

Annual salary range: 5,500,000 JPY - 10,000,000 JPY. This is a full-time position.
