APTO is investing in Physical AI and robotics, and seeks a core member to drive the development of physical systems supporting this field. You will collaborate with AI and software teams on mechanical design, prototyping, and robotics development from concept to operation.
Must-haves
- 3D CAD design experience (Fusion360, SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor, etc.)
- Practical experience in mechanical design, enclosure design, jig design
- Experience handling the entire process from prototyping to assembly, evaluation, and improvement
- Experience designing for 3D printing, cutting, sheet metal
- Experience with hardware configurations including sensors, cameras, electronic components
- Experience improving designs by working directly with physical prototypes
- Development experience collaborating with software and electrical engineers
Nice-to-haves
- Development experience with robotics-related products
- Robotics development experience using ROS / ROS2
- Development experience with sensing equipment (cameras, LiDAR, IMU)
- Development experience with data acquisition devices for Computer Vision and AI
- Prototyping experience using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Jetson
- Control and verification experience using Python / C++
- 0 to 1 development experience in startups or new business ventures
