The Platform Engineering team is seeking a leader to drive strategic planning and promotion across business units. This role involves hands-on work in building and operating developer-facing platform infrastructure, improving developer experience, and promoting productivity improvements. The position offers a potential step-up to an Engineering Manager role.
Must-haves
- Engineering Manager or People Management experience (technical teams)
- Experience in recruitment, onboarding, development, and 1on1s
- Experience designing team missions, goals, and operating roadmaps
- Production environment construction and operation experience on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- CI/CD pipeline design and implementation experience
- Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, etc.)
- Track record of improving developer experience (DX)
- Experience in building systems and organizations from scratch (0 to 1)
- Technical leadership experience (technology selection, architecture decisions, technical guidance)
Nice-to-haves
- Experience establishing and scaling Platform/SRE teams
- Experience building and operating Internal Developer Platforms (IDP)
- Deep knowledge of SRE/DevOps (SLIs/SLOs, observability, incident response)
- Infrastructure construction experience in a multi-product environment
- Experience operating DevOps metrics and developer experience scores
- Initiatives to improve development productivity using Generative AI
- Activities in technical communities (presentations, OSS contributions)
